DIY Haptic Potentiometer, 2019

E-Textile Potentiometer

This is inspired by KobaKant's DIY potentiometer. This potentiometer uses velostat, conductive fabric, conductive thread to create the variable resistor, and incorporates an LED and a vibrating motor as visual and tactile feedback.

To refine the vibrator pattern, I used the Adafruit DRV2605L Haptic Controller Breakout

The basis for the circuit. The outer layer is velostat and the inner circle is conductive fabric.

Each section then has conductive thread sewn through the layer.

A vibration motor and LED are then connected the to circuit to aid in feedback.

I sewed a conductive fabric "thimble" to use as the connected between the conductive fabric and velostat.
