Hydrator

The water bottle that uses a pressure sensor to indicate how much liquid you have consumed.

This project uses an e-textile pressure sensor consisting of velostat and conductive fabric.

Process

The first step was tracing my water bottle and

For this sensor, I used thick foam tiles as an insulator.

I connected the sensor to a variable resistor circuit and started testing the varying values.

I documented the varied values depending on the volume of my water bottle.

Visual feedback

In order to understand the values without the serial monitor, I attached a strip of addressable LEDs.

The feedback indicates when it is time to drink water, if the user drank water "long enough" (aka the bottle in the air and not applying pressure to the sensor), and if enough water was consumed to move into the "section".
